Description

I had annother picture that was supposed to go somewhere, but I didn't get to finish linearting it. It's so totally Roze snuggling his brains out with the dot being "One of my first OCs. He's speshul<3"
:iconthereal-oct:

Tsugaru / Tigger
Male
NOT. A. FURRY.
Keyword: Snugly
My first TRUE OC. I love him.

Theme song: Freak on a Leash (KoRN), Pet (A Perfect Circle), or anything by Queen. I can't pick, seriosuly.

In his native tongue, the prefix of the name denotes what family they're from. Tsu- is the family name, while -garu was the individual suffix assigned to him. However, they're not two separate names. He is Tsugaru, same as his father is Tsurigi. To refer to one as their suffix is a form of disassociating them from their lineage which is a great insult. However, shortening their name to their family name is acceptable amongst friends.... Which sounds a little odd since to someone like us, it sounds the same as calling someone by their last name, which would normally be formal... But hell, he's from a place where harpies and mermaids cross breed. What does logic have to do with it?!
However, he has a lot of memory issues deriving from his moderate form of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Because of this, he was unable to recall his name when questioned by the family who took him in. Seeing as his appearance was quite odd, given the race of the people who took him in, the children lovingly called him "Tigger" after the bouncy stuffed animal on the talky box. Even after the eventual recollection of his name, people still referred to him by his nickname, and so thus, was forever introduced that way. Not that he minds in the slightest. The name Tigger sounds so much more cuddly and less guttural.
TCV and a select group of antagonistic friend call him "Tiggins" because they know it annoys him.

Now to explain the situation with TCV since I've been putting it off.
Tigger is a prince.
Yes yes, I know that knocks him down a few tiers in the NOT A MARK SUE rating, but you know what? I don't care. Way I see it, he's not a god damn self insert character if A: It's the wrong gender, B: It's not being shipped with a well known main character from an existing universe, C: IT'S NOT A GOD DAMN FAN CHARACTER. Can we move on now? Yes? Good.
Because of his royalty, he suffers a slight.... problem. His Jiminy Cricket is on fucking meth. Thankfully for Pinocchio, his Conscious wasn't one to take over his body and make him do terrible things. Too bad Tiggins doesn't have the same reprieve. The CV (Crazy Voice as I affectionately term them, though their society really doesn't have a word for it 'cause they don't talk about it...) is a test laid upon all potential Kings and Queens of this nation. If they can keep the crazy under control, and can responsibly handle the stress it puts them under, then they're fit enough a ruler. However..... In some cases, people DON'T pass the test. In the example of Tigger's Aunt.... Well, she snapped like a god damn twig, killed her brother, his wife and EVERYONE in the fucking castle. Scholars, maids, cooks, guards, you name it. Think GLaDOS with the deadly neurotoxin only minus the morality core.
Back to TCV. He is just a voice... A nothing in the back of Tigger's imagination. He influences dreams, thoughts.... Sometimes pulls Tigger into a state of nothingness where the two can "commune" as it were. Since he doesn't really exist in the tangible universe, he has no form. So in these little sessions where Tigger catches a glimpse of him, it's in whatever manor the CV chooses to show him. Often, it's just a long slinky shadow with quick bursts of fluid motion. As I stated before, he's got no real body, but he's often appearing to be made of something similar to ink. Back to the Tigger Aspect. Tiggins is scared of him. He does his best to suppress him, but so far hasn't quite figured out how. In times of great stress or anger, the TCV can urge Tiggins to have a psychotic break, in which lets TCV possess him 98%. Why the missing two percent? Because at this point, Tigger is the voice in the back of his head, screaming to be let out. He doesn't like being out of control and it's times like that he has a peek into what it must be like for the CV. Tigger also usually has full consciousness during TCV's escapades. He knows what's happening and sees everything there is to see, but can't do a damn thing about it. Because of this, he suffers great remorse, taking everything that the CV has done as his own doing. Amongst these remorse, of course, is the death of his mother. "BUT WAIT! YOU SAID HIS AUNT DID IT!!" Well we've all heard the phrase "Guns don't kill people, people kill people..." In this case, Tigger and TCV were the gun. And believe you me, he emos about this. Never talks about it, of course. I don't think anyone except the three people mentioned know what happened, really. However, TCV does enjoy using this fact (among others) to piss Tiggy off.
Since no one else can hear the voice, Tiggins doesn't talk to TCV when around others... However, give him some privacy and he just might start shouting at the wall. Their relationship is sort of a frienemy sort of thing. While Tigger hates the TCV for all the shit he puts him through and for all the terrible things he's done, He wouldn't be able to be without him for long. TCV, while amongst the supreme kings of distate, is a sort of grounding point for Tigger. Most of us have situations where we're not sure what to think, where we want to do something, but there's just not enough reason or understanding to make a sound judgment, or maybe your emotions just get in the way. TCV doesn't give a shit. He'll tell you what to do, no problem. Sometimes it's for his own ends, but usually he won't do anything that would get Tiggins hurt... You know, unless he's feeling spiteful, but Tigger can usually identify that. TCV will tell Tiggins when to "Stop being such a whiny bitch and get it over with" or "Are you fucking stupid? GET THE LEAD OUT, BOY!" (I would like to note. While in THE REAL, TCV does get his own form. He only uses such informal and casual language with Tigger. With everyone else, he's smooooooth. Like chocolate pudding.) Furthermore, TCV hates Tigger for keeping him confined and locked away like some sort of pet, but does have a certain amount of fondness towards the scamp. I guess it comes with being inside of someone for nineteen years.

Also, unknown fact that I'm going to share with YOU simply to explain why Tiggy has such a problem with his. Children conceived by a CV have an especially low resistance to their crazy voice. That's right, folks. Tigger's mom was felt up by his father's crazy voice. Isn't possession a wonderful thing? Thankfully it's not accumulative from generation to generation.

Appearance:
Red fluffy hair. It's lightly curly and ALWAYS a god damn mess. You can go ahead and make it curl a little differently from panel to panel. He's a very active fellow so it's bound to swish around a lot.
Two "Antenna" on his head. One with a short lead in, but a LOOONG tail, one with a long lead in, but a short tail. Now, I call these things antenna, but really they're just hair. We don't quite know WHY they defy gravity like that, they just do. Normally, I fill them in with a slightly lighter color red, but you can go ahead and make it the same. I don't mind. Furthermore, I draw them fully black when he snaps into TCV mode, but REALLY they're still red. It's just way too damn hard to lineart all the little strings individually, so I just make them black. It conveys the same point and gives in a little more hint that he's not himself. However, if you're feeling ambitious, you go ahead and make them red. I don't mind.
Stripes. Come now, the boy's named Tigger. He's going to be orange with a LOT of stripes. However, he has a lot more then what are shown here.... It just would have taken TOO GOD DAMN LONG to articulate every single little one, so I just gave you the basics. You go ahead and just use these ones. I don't want to kill anyone out there. Important stripes include the two on either side of his face, the V (hidden by his hair, usually), the two on the side of his neck and the big ones on his shoulders. There are lots of small ones on his hands and his eyelids are the color of his stripes. He also has a lot of scars. Most of them are centralized on his back, but I didn't draw them in order to give you a better idea of his markings. I don't hold you to drawing all the little ones, anyway. They heal pretty quick, anyhow. HOWEVER, there's a HUGE gash across his chest. That's important. The little slice across his neck, that's important, too. And then the little X on his nose. I think that one gives him a bit of character, don't you?
Oh. Yeah, can't forget to mention. He's fucking orange. Yes. Orange. I LOVE IT.
His eyes are green. However, the area AROUND the green is yellow. You know how most eyes are X color and white? His are yellow.
And the circus tent...... He has had that since the day I made him. It's old, it's ratty, it's about a size 7X. He's been wearing it since he was like... 6. Oh, he was so cute back then! Could fit in one god damn sleeve, if he wanted to xD Never did, but he could! And all you people thinking "Ewww, it must stink". No. Fuck you. He knows how to do laundry! He's just usually naked when that happens~<3 Buwahahaha.

Personality:
Oh, he's a sweetheart. 110%! Full on gentle and kind. Always considerate and concerned about hurting other people. He's the type who'd give you the shirt off his back, not that you'd want it.... He speaks calmly and with a decent vocabulary. He's very smart, though for his race he's only about average. He's also terribly modest. Always willing to give credit where credit is due. But yes, terribly friendly. A quiet, almost shy sort of fellow, but does posses his own opinion and, if asked, will have no issues sharing it, even if it's slightly two iotas off the norm. And in addition to this, he's a very tolerant person. If you have a different view on a topic... Well, he doesn't mind. Just so long as not one gets hurt, y'know?
Aside from the obvious insecurities about the nagging THING inhabiting his brain, he's very content with himself. He knows both his limits and his strengths and is confident in both. While in his youth, he had numerous concerns about his appearance and often attempted to hide his skin color with makeup. However, he's long outgrown his habit and has come to grips with his identity. I'm not quite sure if it was a gradual adjustment or if seeing so many of his own kind shocked him out of the silly misconception.... But whatever the cause, he's now comfortable with who and what he is.
He's a very active fellow. He has hard time sitting still. That's not to say that he can't, and, as I said, he's very calm. When he wants to be serious, his facial expression will resemble that of BRACK O-FUCKIN'-BAMA. However, when he's free to be himself, he's very breezy. He loves to move and is the type to go for long walks for no reason at all. When surrounded by people he's on great terms with, he loves to laugh and just reach over the table to give someone a hug. Having lived with people with a very french influence in their home, he picked up many of their mannerisms. That doesn't mean that he's a super romantic charisma machine (though he can be when being ironic), I just mean that he gestures when he talks. Lots of movement. Points at things, swishes his hands, you get the idea... Like one of those cheesy Mac commercials with the people's heads cropped out. He swivels his right wrist in a somewhat circular "Processing" motion when he's looking for a word that just slipped his mind-- a trait the artist gave him from her own arsenal. Rarely uses the word "Um"... That includes "Er", "Uh" and "Aaaa". If he's having a momentary brain fart mid sentence, he'll bite his lip and stay quiet as opposed to sounding like an idiot. He honors intelligence. He'll praise singers and artists, don't' get me wrong, but his culture was wrapped around knowledge and the progression of abilities. Their technology is both more advanced and somewhat behind our own. See, they don't have televisions or MP3 players, they don't have watches or sky scrapers.... But they have cloths that don't wear out. They have libraries filled with books that don't fade or burn. They have food that doesn't spoil and children who are born defect free. They have long lifespans and cures for most anything. It's not uncommon for children in that community to be able to speak four to seven languages fluently and be able to write using the language's native alphabet. While Tigger didn't finish off his learning with these people, that's where it started. He can speak five languages, three of which not being ones us humans could ever recognize.
However..... While he's a wonderful person, blah blah blah.... God help anyone who gets on his shitlist. Homie's strong and quick. His claws can be lethal and his teeth ARE originally meant to be carnivorous. He's used to abuse so can take a lot of hits without even flinching. If someone disgraces or brings harm to people he cares about (not necessarily himself) then IT'S AWN, MAN. AWN. Pose like a team 'cause shit just got real!! ON.
Also, he's a little sensitive about being called a Furry. Man, if you're looking to push buttons, that's the one.

Relationships:
No significant female in his life. Has had a few passing glances at things he could never have, but nothing too serious. I suppose he's not comfortable enough with his mental situation to allow to put someone else in harms way, like that.
Howeverrrrrr! One of sons of the family who took him in, a boy by the name of Ukon, has gotten uuber clingy all up in his space. Like, totally BFFS fo' lyfe, man! People have made references about how he looks like Sasuke. YEAH WELL SHOVE IT. I had mine first! (not really, but I'm getting tired of hearing it) Ukon's a nutjob, really. Overly friendly with the mindset of a three year old. He will hump ANYTHING that moves (I mean it. There's some weird shit going on with his twin brother and half sister.... Not at the same time, but still....), but I think it's lightly because he's in love with Tiggy, but the orange just doesn't swing that way. Whatever, it's all up for interpretation, anyway.
We've already been over how he interacts with TCV, though since in THE REAL the two are separate... they might have a slightly more sarcastic relationship. Tigger will probobly be slightly more reserved and almost childishly shy when it comes to him.
Roze is his god damn creator. While he's bitter towards all the shit she's put him through, (ESPECIALLY the thing with his mother and the TCV nonsense...) he does have a respect and affection for her. But damn, she's a little clingy for his taste. Seriously. He's going to get his face mashed into her bosom SO DAMN FREQUENTLY that it might just block out the high pitched sequels of affection.
Patience.... A little broody for his taste. Bastard's a little arrogant, too. But then again, it's almost completely justified. Gets annoyed about how patience is so self centered and that he's SO wing obsessed, especially since Tiggins has gone though so much more then he has.... However, he's clearly a good person so Tiggy can't get too upset with him. Might get a little sarcastic with him, but not too much so.

Fighting style:
Fast as fuck. His biggest strength is his speed. Note, this doesn't mean he's impatient. He just can go from 0 to 60 almost instantly, which can fuck up an opponent's head a little. He's also pretty strong. Not necessarily for his kind, but as opposed to a human he's a little overpowered. He's very much a close combat sort of fellow. Quick reflexes and sharp body parts results in much pain for the enemy. He's fairly educated about how a standard human body functions, so would most likely be able to incapacitate an enemy fairly quickly.... However, has no skill with robots or other beings who don't get tired or are beyond his area of understanding. I will say this, though. When in doubt, just start taking chunks off. Just gotta figure out how, first.
However, he does NOT enjoy fighting. The little voice in his head gets a KICK out of it, but Tiggy himself is so much more of a peacemaker. While he can fight, he'd much rather talk out the problem. In fact, he's so much more of a diplomat that in between blows, he'll do his best to hold a conversation with the opponent. Not always a good idea, but at least he tries.
